As the Parish considers applying for a Children’s Ministry Support Package, there are a number of things to take into consideration.
As the Parish considers applying for the Children’s Ministry Support Package, it is important to remember that the Children’s Ministry Worker cannot solely do all the Children’s Ministry work on their own.
Before applying for the Support Package, the Parish must have three or more people committed to assisting the Children’s Ministry Worker in their role.
These parishioners will need to have a passion for reaching children with the Good News of Jesus, volunteer their time, gifts and skills in supporting the ministry amongst children.
This will mean encouraging and practically supporting the Children’s Ministry Worker in the particular ministry endeavours the Parish chooses to engage in.
The Parish must fulfil all Diocesan Requirements, such as Working With Children’s Check, superannuation, work cover, etc.
The Parish also needs to provide a Children’s Ministry Plan and Job Description as part of the application.
The application is to include:
An outline of the style/s of Children’s Ministry in the Parish
Plans for promoting Children’s Ministry in the Parish
Plans for raising sufficient funds to contribute to the ongoing work of the Children’s Ministry Worker.
